Today marks the 13th occurrence of the Edible Book Festival. This is an international event which has been held around April 1 since 2000. (aka The Edible Book Day). Entries for this fest come from all over the world and are registered and submitted to www.books2eat.com. This event is celebrated across the globe from Australia, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, The Netherlands, Russia, USA (to name but a few).  (Photo – depicts book title: Shades of Earl Grey by Laura Childs)

The origin of the event helps commemorate the birthday of French gastronome Jean-Anthelme Brillet-Savarin who wrote a witty meditation on food on April Fool’s Day “Eat Your Words; and so this is what people do. They create an edible theme around the title of a book and at the end of the competition, they simply deconstruct it through eating it. – bon appétit!

I’m extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it is rare to see a nice blog like this one today..
