Here we have, Herve Morvan’s Scandale (aka “Scandalous ca. 1950 poster) of an embarrassed sandwich man who, by wearing the sandwich board, looks as though he is wearing women’s underwear. Ooh la la!
Herve Morvan (1917-1980) was a great French poster artist and designer who became well-known for his advertising posters for Perrier in 1950. Morvan’s creations ranged from advertising posters for children, food/drink, household, fashion, travel, campaigns, alcohol, cigarettes, film/music, and greeting cards. He drew increasing attention from his following works for Vittel, Evian, Danone, and Esso.
What do you think, scandalous or not?
